Nepalese New Year 2068: Events (Sydney)

Nepalese New Year is around the corner. You must not have noticed. Albatross "Ati Vayo" tour is commencing soon in Sydney for the occasion. For those of you who aren't quite aware of the band, Albatross is a high profile hard rock Nepalese band formed back in the 1990's. They remained inactive for years and had an ever-changing band team. Anyways, maybe this will ring some bells:

Joining the likes of Alok Nembang, artists who have studied abroad, went back to Nepal and used their skills to create better art without ruining the Nepalese touch, Albatross has been slowly but surely getting a good fanbase everywhere.

        Their tour will commence most probably on the 14th April(dates aren't fixed yet) in Sydney in The Oxford Art Factory, Darlinghurst. Organized by 3D events, the promo shot in Hyde Park looks really good too. Ticket prices haven't been fixed yet. When I did make some calls, it was understood that the band members were still was waiting for their visa. But I was ensured that it is "90%" done deal. :D

             The gig will start at 8 pm and you can always buy the tickets at the door. Surely, we will post more details as we find out more! Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne are also set for Albatross soon after.

        On a bit different tone of music, Raju Lama from Mongolian Hearts will be performing(along with Dibya Subba and Dharmendra Sewan) at Marana Auditorium, Hurstville on 16th of April (6.30 pm-10.30pm??). Tickets: 25$ could be bought at the door or contact Myagdi Sewa Samiti(the same guys who organize the Basketball Championship every year)! 40% of the profit form the event will go to Myagdi Ambulance Project. 

          The fine people at Myagdi Sewa Samiti have been doing their share for their society since 2007. Also their full scale movie being shot now is probably the first Nepalese movie to be shot entirely overseas: Maya Ma  (Watch the trailer here)
