LOVE Story Gone Horribly Wrong

21-year-old Rosy Maharjan, a resident of Kupandole, Lalitpur was reported missing since June 20. Rajiv Maharjan, Rosy's elder brother had sought police help when his sister who had left for college at 9:30am did not return back till late evening and he had recieved an sms that read "If we don't get a million rupee by 2morrow, your Rosy's video will be out and she'll be shot dead" (the cops found this fishy because obviously a million rupee doesn't buy you anything these days, as we all know, let alone a price of a life.)

Apparently, Rosy's boyfriend, Subhash Upreti of 21 yrs had sweet talked her into going to Nallu on motorcycle with him at around 11:00am. But her boyfriend had arranged a surprise awaiting her at Nallu which by the way was not a pleasant one. He had hired two gunmen who were already waiting for them at that place.

When Subhash and Rosy reached the jungle in Nallu, Rosy was shot dead. A bullet went through her right temple taking her life. Her body was then dumped in a bush to be discovered by police in a decaying state on August 10.

Subhash who first met Rosy at Dhobhighat based Nepal College of Management as an 11th grader, had gone to UK for his further studies while his girlfriend resumed her studies in the same college. Subhash had returned Nepal about 4 months ago without completing the business administration course. He said that he killed Rosy because she had been unfaithful to him. (They had been together for 4 yrs)

As much as I hate cheaters, I don't think cheating should be punished by something as harsh as murder. A slap across the face would have done just well but going ahead and taking the life of a person who once he loved is unimaginable for me. However, this is not the only love affair gone sour case that lead to murder. There have been many incidents such as these.
