Nature Lovers?? err... NOT!

Nature/environment/green are probably second most frequently used words at recent times (first being constitution). It makes me wonder; are people really being concerned about environment or are the only just following it like a new trend in fashion???
             
             Everyone seems 2 be saying "Go Green" but do they really mean it? Many environmental programmes are being held but not all of them help in environmental conservation. I read about this event where people talked as if they were experts on environmental conservation while the organizers were using plastic in abundance- tea in plastic and water in plastic bottles. They didn't even acknowledge that plastic is the biggest enemy of mother nature. If only people "walked the talk", the world would most certainly be a better place to live. I recently attended this concert done by this famous Nepali band for a Cause. The concert was done to save Nepal's pride (the cultural and natural heritages). The concert was pretty successful but was the cause???? Because the heritages, the band played at must have looked like a dumpster the next day. I don't blame the organizer's for it. Its the people who participated that are to blame. The people who were in front of us were drinking water n cold drinks. And, what did they do of the bottles? They threw it on the ground of the very heritage they were supposed to help save. And, as if it wasn't enough, a girl was jumping over this bottle squashing it and the bottle was left to be kicked around. To me, that's disrespecting the heritages and the environment. I respect the band's decision to play for the cause and I wish people would acknowledge it and support those who are working to save the environment and the heritages.


             There are some true nature lovers out there who are genuinely concerned about the environment and who are doing everything in their might to save it. And, they could use some help from us. I just wanna say that If we can't do anything to save the environment, we shouldn't destroy it! A small change in our habit could make a big difference. So, next time we pop a candy in our mouth, let's not throw the wrapper on the ground. Let's not dump the plastic bags on the streets. Let's recycle!!!
